Délices au pays des merveilles : Chef Competition

On October 2013,  we invited numerous guests to New City Gas, Montreal
for its 2nd annual fundraiser: Délices au pays des merveilles. 

The evening, hosted by CTV and Virgin Radio’s Andrea Collins (a food lover herself), showcased 5 chefs and restaurant owners who crossed swords in a highly colourful culinary competition: Adam Aspelund (Luger Buvette Gourmand), Fisun Ercan (Restaurant Su, Barbounya), Sergio Mattoscio (Macaroni Bar), Antonio Park (Park Restaurant), and Alexandre Gosselin (Chez Victoire). Their mission consisted of creating an original meal, which was then served to the guests in order to have them pick a winner. In the end, Adam Aspelund’s delicious smoked ricotta and braised pork agnolotti prevailed.  

The guests’ contributions made it possible for Amal Foundation to give a $17,000 cheque to Éric Gareau, president of Rêves d’enfants’ West Chapter. Thanks to this sum, Jade, aged 6, who is battling Ewing’s sarcoma, will be able to visit her favorite Walt Disney characters, while Miguel, aged 8, who is battling lymphoblastic leukemia, will get the chance to swim with the dolphins.
